Introduction to Nutrient Management

Introduction to Nutrient Management course outlines the basic agronomic principles that are in the Nutrient Management Act and Regulations.

You will learn about:

  • Land features and cropping practices that could lead to nutrient loss and environmental damage
  • How to recognize opportunities to maximize the use of the nutrients generated on-farm
  • How to use Best Management Practices that can reduce nutrient loss and maximize crop uptake of nutrients
  • Key terms and practices such as the N-Index, P-Index, red flags, and nutrient loss

Options:

Online – available anytime to complete at your own pace.

Virtual Classroom – An instructor will teach the course live using Zoom. You do not need specific software or computer knowledge for this course, just an internet connection.

*Note: The virtual classroom course is a 3-session, evening course. You must attend all three sessions to get credit for this course.
