Nutrient Application Technician Licence

This course is a requirement for people applying nutrients to land on farms that are phased-in under the Nutrient Management Act (NMA) and require a nutrient management plan (NMP) or NASM Plan. The course outlines the regulatory requirements and Best Management Practices for people who apply agricultural source materials, non-agricultural source materials and commercial fertilizer to land.

You will learn about:

  • Your responsibilities under the Regulation
  • How to read a Plan (NMP or NASM Plan)
  • Minimizing potential adverse effects

Due to the current COVID19 situation, we will not be offering face-to-face courses or exams for the time being.

If you requre your Nutrient Application Technician Licence, you can register for the online course.

As a temporary measure, the online Nutrient Application Technician Licence Course, will include the exam component. The exam component is a quiz at the end of each module. There is a total of 5 quizzes in the course. You will be allowed 1 attempt for each of these quizzes.

Your total score on these quizzes will be used as your exam score. You must achieve at least 75% overall to pass the exam component. You will be notified of your final result by email within 4 business days of comnpleting.

If you have been successful, you must submit an application for your licence. The preferred way to submit your application is online. Instructions on how to apply online will be provided in the email with the notification of your exam result. Once your licence is approved, a PDF version of your licence will be emailed to you directly.  This will enable you to start performing the duties of a Nutrient Application Technician.  A reminder that you must receive your licence before you start performing the duties of a Nutrient Application Technician

If you are unsuccessful in achieving this passing score, you must retake the entire course and each quiz.
